Bank Feeds vs. Batch Enter Transactions in QuickBooks Acountant

Before entering large amounts of data into QuickBooks Desktop Accountant (and assuming I happen to have all the data in CSV or Excel), I ask myself this question: Should I use Bank Feeds? or Should I use Batch Enter?

BATCH ENTER TRANSACTIONS

  • Requires bank to have ability to export all transactions in CSV or EXCEL – COPY/PASTE
  • You must assign the expense account
  • Vendors may be created and repeated with slight changes

BANK FEEDS

  • Requires bank to have ability to export all transactions in .QBO format
  • Will use Bank Rules to auto assign expense accounts
  • Vendors get renamed
