QuickBooks Online – Swipe Credit Card Feature with QuickBooks Payments

QuickBooks is one of the best accounting applications available to small businesses nowadays. With the flexibility, scalability and convenience it has to offer, the application is a favorite of startups and companies with less than 10 employees. Besides, QuickBooks is known for its accuracy and precision in providing you with completely trustable reports, something every small business needs.

While there are a lot of noticeable features that QuickBooks has to offer via both its online and desktop versions, there are certain unique features that can only be found in QuickBooks Online. Most importantly, the online version allows QuickBooks users to access their information from anywhere at any time through the Internet, a luxury that desktop version users can’t have.

That aside, one of the best features that QuickBooks Online now offers to users is the ability to swipe credit cards for handling customer transactions. The credit card swipes will automatically make their way to the QuickBooks database, saving you from the hassle of entering information manually. This can also help you get lower swipe rates on your machine, allowing you to provide premium services to your customers at lower charges.

The only thing you need to get this feature working is a USB card reader plugged into your PC. You won’t be required to go through difficult setups since you can easily swipe the card from either the Receive Payment page or the Sales Receipt page. Compared to the key entering rate of 2.52%, you can qualify for something as low as $1.69 if you are using this service from your QuickBooks.

If you currently have the Payments feature turned on with your QuickBooks, you simply need an additional card reader to get started. You can get one from Intuit, the company offering QuickBooks. Card readers are very affordable, which means that you can get one without having to spend too much money or worrying about regular maintenance.

On the other hand, if Payments isn’t turned on, you can click on the option of “Accept Credit Cards” found under the customer tab on your QuickBooks. From there, you will be instructed on what to do next. Once you have set up the system, you can start swiping your card the very same day without any difficulty. With this feature offered by QuickBooks, handling your transactions is much easier as you can swipe the card and record automatic transactions at any time you want.
